H2O

Something you hear over and over is "Drink Water!", it has become a do or die statement. So why is it that people lack drinking their recommended daily amount. Even I struggle to drink enough daily, but I am trying! The benefits go further than any other daily consumption, which means it is a no brainer...DRINK MORE WATER!
-Healthier looking hair and skin (hey we all want to be prettier)
-Fuller feeling stomach
-Flatter looking stomach!!!!
The list really does go on and on...I am serious...Google it.
People always ask why I drink Fiji water and the simple answer is...I like the taste better. To me, water has a taste and I prefer this one! Tap water and bottled water are literally the exact same so do not think you have to spend a fortune, but buying the mini Fiji's are the perfect size for me to take on the go and to the gym! Drink up and enjoy!

Underrated Fab: Ciara

Most people forget about how perfect Ciara's body really is. The singer/dancer is the definition of sexy. She works out 6 days a week and stays on a low sodium diet but she luckily has good genes.
Dance also helps this performer stay in tip top shape! Honestly I will say this til the day that I die...put your favorite music on in your room and dance. It is a sure fire way to loose weight and relieve stress. Put on Ride by Ciara if you are feeling really venturous. ;)

Some of my Fabulous Faves

Sorry for my absence! I was on a beach vacation which then lead to a vacation from my vacation and I got astray on the long and narrow path of virtual thoughts and blogging. But I thought I would give a bunch of my favorite things of the moment (Including my new Lilly Pulitzer swimsuit above)!

 Hot Raspberry Lipstick!
This color is so hot and looks even better with a summer tan! I was never one for tons of make up but lately I have felt the need to throw lipstick on, on rare occasion. It really does transform your look and pull it together for a dressier vibe.

 Macaroons!
I found a cute French restaurant in Pittsburgh that sells 20ish different flavors of these yummy delights. So far my favorite flavors have been Earl Grey and Strawberry but I have tried Peach Violet, Vanilla, Coffee and Sea Salt Carmel as well. Research a place near you so you can play Blair Waldorf for the Day!

Adam Levine!
I went to the Maroon 5 concert and stood in the pit and could practically feel his sweat on me. People really do forget it is a band because of his talent and beauty.

Moscato Floats!
On vacation I wanted to try something new and made this little number up with a few scoops of vanilla ice cream and a glass of Barefoot. The key is to have alittle more ice cream than wine to make it a nice combo and not just spoon fulls of wine, but who are we kidding, that is the point anyways.

Nice is Just a Place in France!
People have been asking me if I wrote this book, and quite frankly after reading only the first few pages I questioned that as well. I am only half way through but it has to be one of the best books I have ever read! A total summer MUST READ!

Class of the Week: Step!

Step is literally the most fabulous class I have ever taken! I have been taking it all summer to get in shape sometimes twice a week! It is a non-stop, 1 hour class that includes a power playlist and not a moment of rest! My instructor Denise is crazy and fun and perfect for pushing me through the calorie burning class. The step can sometimes intimidate people but trust me when I say, it will help you get into the best shape of your life! Because there are no breaks it makes you push yourself til you need to stop. If you are ever in Pittsburgh, Amerifit's Step classes are the best around, if not go check out one near you. You will NOT be disappointed!

TRUTH: Summer Bod

Most people I know are under some kind of illusion that "the workout" equals "the body". I was one of these delusional people for pretty much all of high school. When I put on the Freshman 10, I was caught off guard and decided to dig deeper. I am a fitness junkie, for life!!!! I am not saying that you sweating it out for two hours a day is a waste...I am simply saying you should probably take a deeper look at what you are putting in your mouth!

  • Let's Talk Proteins: For all of our lives we have been trained that protein is the end all, be all. Don't get me wrong...you should get your daily dose, but not from the typical foods we go to. Fresh Broccoli has wayyyyy more protein than an oz of beef. People are under some kind of kick that meat is the way to go, which then hurts their veggie and fruit intake. I AM TELLING YOU! Time to put some green in your meals.
  • People are Scaredy Cats: For all of your lives, you usually have set usuals, especially when it comes to food. But food is amazing! And there is a whole world out there of foods that people have never tried because they are too scared or don't have the money. I promise if you read up on some cooking ideas, you can make just about anything taste good! Health foods will keep you alive way longer than any fast food substitution. It becomes set in your brains since you are a kid that you won't like or enjoy healthier foods.
  • Processed Foods are a NOGO: Just cut it out now. If it comes in a package no matter what...it is bad for your body. Even the fat-free or 100 calorie alternatives are terrible for you. Just trust me when I say, no processed foods!
I will report on healthy eating sometime within the next two weeks with my report on Eat to Live! In the mean time, read up and practice eating clean and healthy!

Summer Check In

I have taken two days off to start my prep vacation prep. Starting tomorrow I will have a week until vacation and hope to loose 4 lbs if possible. I will cleanse with fruit shakes and salads and drink only naked juices next Thursday as a "fake cleanse". As far as working out goes, I will do classes Saturday and Sunday and start running Monday-Thursday. Abs every single day! Just a quick last minute easy prep for everyone to throw into their routine.

Cleanse It!

I did a cleanse right before the 4th of July to make sure I looked as best as I could for a bathing suit. I went to wholefoods and spent about $20 on three bottles of Suja juices. I HATED JUICE CLEANSING. I wasn't extremely hungry and I loved Fuel, but I noticed I didn't have a ton of energy. I couldn't bare to drink Fiji because it tasted like celery and the Vanilla Cloud would have been nice to mix in with like a Chai Tea or milkshake but overall I didn't enjoy the taste. By the end of the night I had a small plate of peppers and shrimp just because I was hungry and wanted to taste something good. I did however notice that I looked alittle leaner. Which I can also credit to the past week of me exercising a ton. I would maybe try a juice cleanse again if need be, but a few other flavors.
